Establishing A Session—Local And Remote Login
When you invoke Visual Hindsight, the Login Prompt window appears. You must provide a valid login name and login password, and select to use the local or remote database before proceeding. The ability to select a remote database implies Visual Hindsight may be used to share information such as camera and video server settings.
If you choose to login to the remote database, you'll have the opportunity to select the network directory where the remote database is located. Note that this directory must be "mapped" before it can be used by Visual Hindsight. When the remote database radio button is checked, a "Database Directory" input field and browse button are revealed; the Login Prompt Window now looks as follows:
You can type the name of the remote directory, or click on the browse button to bring up the "Select A Directory" dialog window. Using this window, you can select the directory where the remote Visual Hindsight database is located. The next time the "Login Prompt" dialog window is displayed, it will remember the previous login name and whether a local or remote database was selected, and will display accordingly.
