Adding, Modifying And Deleting Operator Accounts
The
"Edit Operator Login" Window.
The Edit Operator Login window allows you to add, modify,
or delete a Visual Hindsight operator, or account holder. Note:
This
window is not available in Home and Viewer Editions.
An account holder may be given Administrator Privilege, in which
case they can invoke and modify View window settings.
By clicking on the fields within this window you can edit, manage, and delete the following
operator properties:
- Username: The login name for this operator.
- Enabled: Select or deselect the check-box to enable
or disable this operator.
- Name Last: Enter the last (family) name of the operator,
if applicable.
- Name First: Enter the first (given) name of the operator,
if applicable.
- Password: Enter this user's password.
- Confirm Password: Re-enter the user's password (for
security purposes).
- Administrator Privilege: Gives this user "super
user" status—allows the user to add, modify, and delete
URLs from the database, manage users and user permissions, allow
or disallow users from viewing any or all cameras/camera groups,
etc.
- Allow View 1-5: Allows this user access to Viewer
windows 1 through 5. Note: Home and Viewer Edition support
1 window only.
From this window, the following menu commands are available:
Edit menu command:
- Edit > Insert command to insert a new record.
NB: the Insert command becomes available after you have changed
one or more fields.
- Edit > Modify command to modify an existing record.
NB: the Modify command becomes available after you have changed
one or more fields.
- Edit > Delete command to delete an existing record.
- Edit > Undo Edit command to undo or restore a
previous record.
- Edit > Clear command to clear all fields.
View menu command:
- View > Show Toolbar command to show or hide the Toolbar,
which contains short cuts to often-used menu commands.
- View > Show Status Bar command to show or hide the Status
Bar.
- View > Refresh command, which reloads the current
record.
Print menu command:
- Print > Print Detail command to print the current
record.
Navigate menu command:
- Navigate > First command to move to the first
record.
- Navigate > Prior command to move to the prior
or previous record.
- Navigate > Next command to move to the next record.
- Navigate > Last command to move to the last record.
Window menu command:
- Window > Goto Window command to bring to the foreground
a previously opened window.
- Window > Close Window command to close the current window.
Help menu command:
- Help > Help Contents command to bring up this help document.
