Displaying And Recording Cameras Within View Windows

View windows contain child Viewer windows, which are responsible for displaying and recording live video to disk. Professional Edition offers up to five View windows, each capable of hosting up to twenty Viewer windows. Home Edition and Viewer Edition offer one View window, also capable of hosting up to twenty Viewer windows. Note: Viewer Edition does not support recording video footage to disk.

View menu command:

  • View > Show Toolbar command to show or hide the Toolbar, which contains short cuts to often-used menu commands.
  • View > Show Status Bar command to show or hide the Status Bar, which displays the current user and database path.
  • View > Show Pan, Tilt, Zoom Controls command to show or hide the Pan, Tilt, and Zoom controls window. Note: This window allows you to remotely manipulate the camera in the currently focused Camera Viewer window, provided the camera supports extended commands.
  • View > Auto-Tile command specifies whether to automatically tile the Viewer URL windows when the parent window is resized.
  • View > Retention Manager - List Captured Footage command to invoke a window listing all video footage you've captured to date.

Camera menu command:

  • Camera > Goto Camera command to select a Viewer URL window. Note: When a Viewer URL window is selected, its caption bar becomes a highlighted color.
  • Camera > Tile command to tile the Viewer URL windows to the parent window.
  • Camera > Show Context Menu command to invoke the currently selected Viewer window's context-sensitive (popup) menu.
  • Camera > Configure View command to invoke the "Configure View" dialog window. The "Configure View" dialog window allows you to define the number of Viewer URL's you wish to see in the View window.
  • Camera > Connect All command attempts to connect all cameras currently defined for the View window.
  • Camera > Disconnect All command disconnect all cameras currently defined for the View window.
  • Camera > Start Capture All command attempts to start recording all cameras currently defined for the View window.
  • Camera > Stop Capture All command stops recording all cameras currently defined for the View window.
  • Camera > Next (Ctrl + Tab) command will set focus to the next Camera Viewer window.
  • Camera > Prior (Shift + Ctrl + Tab) command will set focus to the prior Camera Viewer window.

Window menu command:

  • Window > Goto Window command to bring to the foreground a previously opened window.
  • Window > Close Window command to close the current window. Note: Using the Close Window command from this window will effectively disconnect all cameras.

Help menu command:

  • Help > Help Contents command to bring up this help document.
